Akhtar Mengal, other BNP leaders booked under terrorism charges

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have registered a terrorism case against Balochistan National Party-Mengal chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal and others on charges of assaulting staff of the Senate.

According to police, the case had been filed against the BNP leaders at the Secretariat Police Station. The First Information Report (FIR) had been registered on a complaint of Senate Joint Secretary Jameel Ahmed.

In the FIR, Mengal and his associates have been booked under seven different sections, including terrorism.

The FIR alleged that the BNP chief and his colleagues physically assaulted Senate staff members.

It claims that Mengal and his associates entered Parliament House armed. The FIR requests strict legal action against the accused.
