Corps Commander Lahore extends wishes, solidarity on Easter

LAHORE: Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Syed Amir Raza expressed solidarity with the Christian community of Pakistan.

He attended the joyous occasion of Easter at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Lahore Cantt and engaged in festivities alongside the Christian community.

The event witnessed the cutting of a ceremonial cake, accompanied by warm wishes extended to the Christian brethren.

Additionally, prayers resonated for the advancement and prosperity of the nation, underscoring the importance of collective aspirations for a better Pakistan.

General Raza commended the invaluable contributions of the Christian community and appreciated their pivotal role in the establishment and stability of Pakistan. He lauded their unwavering commitment and sacrifices, particularly highlighting their significant contributions to the nation’s defense and development.

“The outstanding services and eternal sacrifices of the Christian community for the country’s defense and development are unforgettable”, he said. Emphasising the need for national consensus and unity to promote inter-faith harmony and tolerance, General Raza stressed the importance of thwarting the efforts of those who seek to disrupt peace.

“In line with the vision of the Quaid-e-Azam, the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees complete religious freedom to all citizens,” reiterated the Corps Commander, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to upholding the principles of inclusivity and religious freedom.

Pastor Akram Gill echoed the sentiments of unity within the Pakistani nation, rejecting any form of hateful propaganda.
