DHA flood: Body recovered from Soan River

ISLAMABAD: The body of Col (retd) Qazi Ishaq, who was swept away along with his daughter, by the flood waters in DHA Islamabad, has been recovered, rescue officials confirmed on Thursday.

Rescue workers were continuing their search for the third consecutive day on Thursday for the father and daughter, who were swept away by the flood waters in DHA, Islamabad.

A tragic incident occurred in DHA Islamabad Phase 5, Sector A, where Col (retd) Qazi Ishaq and his daughter were swept away along with their vehicle in a flooded seasonal stream on Tuesday.

The rescue authorities were having trouble recovering the duo despite an extensive search since the past two days.

However, according to Rescue 1122, the car’s door and bonnet were recovered from beneath the Soan River bridge on Thursday morning. Later in the day the body of the father was recovered near Soan River.
