Five labourers killed in Islamabad factory roof collapse

ISLAMABAD: Five labourers were killed on Tuesday when the roof of a factory collapsed on Kahuta Road in the Humak area of Islamabad.

According to rescue sources, eight labourers were trapped beneath the debris when the roof caved in. Three workers were pulled alive from the rubble, however five others could not be rescued.

Rescue authorities are still searching for one more worker believed to be trapped under the rubble.

The deceased workers have been identified as Lucky, Sajjad, Kabir, and Ijaz. Three of them were from Taunsa Sharif, and one was from Malir, Karachi.

Islamabad police and rescue teams are actively engaged in the rescue operation, with senior officials, including the SP and SDPO, present at the scene to oversee the efforts.
