ISLAMABAD: Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has tested positive for dengue fever.
The justice received the positive test results yesterday and has been advised by medical professionals to take adequate bed rest. As a result, Justice Aurangzeb has officially taken medical leave until his recovery.
This development comes amid a worrying spike in dengue cases across the region, with recent statistics showing 46 reported cases from Rawalpindi and Islamabad in the past week alone.

The situation could also impact the case of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, who recently approached the IHC for post-arrest bail in the Toshakhana-II case after her initial bail petition was rejected by a trial court.
During the proceedings, her legal team argued that the investigation lacked transparency and was intended to prolong her detention.
However, Justice Aurangzeb had deferred the hearing until next week. Despite requests from Bushra Bibi’s lawyer to expedite the hearing, Justice Aurangzeb had directed the registrar’s office to schedule the case for next week.
