Islamabad: Expect intermittent rain, high humidity on Thursday

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad is expected to experience intermittent monsoon rain with strong winds on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are impacting the upper parts of the country, including Islamabad.

Rainfall accompanied by winds are predicted for Islamabad throughout Wednesday night and into Thursday. Isolated heavy rainfall may occur in the Pothohar region.
Temperatures are predicted to reach between 32°C and 34°C on Thursday and Friday. The humidity will likely stay high because of the ongoing rainfall.
In the past 24 hours, Islamabad has already experienced monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls. The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 35°C, with relative humidity at 92% in the evening.
Weather in other regions
For other areas, the forecast includes rain with wind and thunderstorms. Rain is expected in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, and northeast Balochistan. Heavy falls are possible at isolated locations in these regions.

On Thursday, similar weather conditions are expected with rain expected at different spots in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, and northeast Balochistan.
Heavy rainfall may also occur in isolated areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Kashmir, and northeast Balochistan.
Elsewhere in the country, hot and humid weather is forecasted.
The weather is being shaped by active monsoon flows and a westerly disturbance impacting northern Pakistan.
