Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Qasim Ali Shah highlighted the urgency of this move, stating, “The health sector is the first to be affected by climate change.”
He pointed out that recent floods have led to a surge in malaria and other diseases like dengue across the province. “Malaria cases have notably increased in the southern districts due to the ongoing monsoon floods,” he added.
The minister also noted that skin diseases and other health issues are emerging as a direct result of climate change, further emphasising the need for proactive measures.
