PESHAWAR: Mashal Azam Yousafzai, Special Assistant to the KP Chief Minister, was removed from her position hours after appearing on TV to discuss the PTI protest at D-Chowk on November 26.
The dismissal came on Saturday through an official notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat at the request of CM Ali Amin Gandapur.
In the interview, Yousafzai said Bushra followed Imran’s instructions to move to D-Chowk during the protest, which PTI had called a “do-or-die” moment. “When Imran Khan asked her to proceed to D-Chowk, how could she refuse?” Yousafzai said.
She added that Bushra was unwilling to leave D-Chowk but had to switch vehicles due to an attack involving firing and chemicals that blurred the windshield. Amid the chaos, Yousafzai got separated from Bushra.

Yousafzai stated she was unsure about what happened after Bushra changed vehicles. She also expressed surprise that PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif managed to meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
According to Yousafzai, Bushra received an “indirect message” about Imran’s instruction to stage a sit-in at Sangjani but wanted to confirm the directive directly from him.
Speaking to Geo News, Yousafzai confirmed her removal, linking it to comments she made during an interview on the channel.
Mashal Yousafzai also serves as spokesperson for Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife.
