Mobile, internet services suspended in Faisalabad during Muharram

FAISALABAD: Mobile and internet services in Faisalabad will be suspended to coincide with the observance of the Muharram 7 across Pakistan.
As per reports, the Punjab government approved the closure of mobile and internet services in Faisalabad during Muharram from 6 am to 12 pm. This follows a request from police authorities to ensure public safety during the commemoration.

Meanwhile in Quetta, authorities will shut down cellular and internet services from 6 am to 12 midnight on Muharram 7 and Muharram 10.
Mobile services will cease on the Muharram 9 and Muharram 10 in Kachhi. Jhal Magsi, Jafarabad, and Dera Bugti districts.
To enhance security, authorities will deploy more than 18,000 personnel in Quetta on Ashura day. The Pakistan Army will keep five Quick Response Force platoons on standby, and two helicopters will conduct aerial surveillance during processions on Muharram 7, as well as on Muharram 9 and 10.

Authorities in both provinces are implementing these measures to maintain security and peace during the religious events of Muharram.
