Pakistan Railways introduces ‘RABTA’ App for enhanced rail travel

ISLAMABAD: In a landmark move to elevate the rail travel experience, Pakistan Railways has introduced the groundbreaking ‘RABTA’ app.

With RABTA standing for Railway Automated Booking and Travel Assistance, the app signifies a pivotal leap towards passenger-centric services and a modernized rail journey.

Railway Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar formally inaugurated the RABTA app, underscoring the commitment of Pakistan Railways to redefine connectivity, rail transport and convenience for its passengers. Described as an “innovative platform to revolutionize the way you plan & experience your journey” by PR Secretary Mazhar Ali Shah, the app marks a significant stride in bringing travel planning to the fingertips of passengers.

Pakistan Railways plans to make Awam Express operational again

The initial phase of RABTA targets three major train routes, notably featuring the illustrious Greenline train connecting Islamabad and Karachi. Additionally, the app integrates two railcars servicing the Lahore-Islamabad-Lahore route, offering a curated and seamless travel experience.

Beyond the conventional realm of ticket bookings, the RABTA app allows passengers to effortlessly secure accommodations, arrange transportation, and even plan meals – all within the confines of a single, user-friendly application.

This development heralds a new era of accessibility and convenience for Pakistan Railways’ passengers, promising a streamlined and stress-free travel process. PR officials have expressed a commitment to expand the app’s coverage by incorporating more trains into its network in the imminent future, further solidifying its position as a game-changer in the realm of rail travel.
