Punjab govt seeks bail cancellation in May 9 high-profile cases

LAHORE: In a bid to address the gravity of the May 9 incidents, the caretaker government of Punjab has taken the decision to file an appeal seeking the cancellation of bail for individuals involved in high-profile cases related to the tragic events.

Under the leadership of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, a meeting was convened to evaluate the progress of legal proceedings against the miscreants implicated in the May 9 incidents.

During the meeting, it was unanimously agreed to initiate the process of cancelling the bail for those individuals who had been released on bail in connection with the high-profile cases.

Expressing concern over the failure to identify 171 criminals involved in the incidents, Mohsin Naqvi promptly ordered the expedited completion of the identification process.

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab stressed the importance of professionally pursuing all cases against the miscreants, employing a combination of technical and human intelligence to apprehend the fugitives, and enhancing the effectiveness of the prosecution process.

Naqvi asserted that these acts of terrorism would be pursued until a just resolution is attained, ensuring a conclusive end to these cases.
