
Quetta-Karachi highway closed after two factions of Mengal tribe exchange fire

WADH: The Quetta-Karachi highway was on Wednesday after a heavy exchange of gunfire between the armed factions of the Mengal tribe in the Wadh area.
According to sources, Balochistan National Party (BNP) workers took to the streets after the exchange of fire between the two factions. “No casualties have been reported since the filing of this reort.
The conflict between the two powerful factions of the Mengal tribe has been simmering since June with both accusing each other of kidnapping.
Meanwhile, Baluochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove visited Wadh in June and claimed to take strict action against those involved in violence.
He had also directed the local administration and police to take measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
During his visit, Langove had also met with BNP chief Akhtar Mengal and Jhalawan Awami Panel chief Mir Shafiq Mengal and urged them to resolve the issue through dialogue.
