Reconciliation with PTI chief only way out of crisis: Moonis

LONDON: Moonis Elahi, the son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Parvez Elahi, emphasized that reconciling with the PTI chief is the path to propel Pakistan forward amid its present political and economic challenges.

He expressed this viewpoint during an informal exchange with journalists in London. The former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) noted that Shehbaz Sharif, despite having the opportunity to serve the public, was unable to fulfill his responsibilities effectively.

In response to a query, Moonis Elahi remarked that former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar achieved their respective objectives.

However, he highlighted that both individuals significantly impacted the economy in a negative manner.

He cautioned against delaying elections, as this would exacerbate the country’s already fragile economic situation. Elahi asserted that exorbitant electricity bills have greatly afflicted the lives of the citizens and urged the government to provide relief to the populace.

It is noteworthy that Moonis Elahi had been declared a fugitive due to his prolonged absence in a money laundering case, according to a Lahore district court.

The legal proceedings against both Pervaiz and Moonis encompass allegations of fraud, money laundering, and corruption.

The duo is accused of concealing substantial sums of money within five companies based in Panama, with Pervaiz Elahi purportedly utilizing apparent money laundering methodologies to acquire ownership of these entities.
