SC constitutional bench to hear 1,178 consolidated tax petitions today

ISLAMABAD: The newly constituted constitutional bench of the Supreme Court will hear 1,178 consolidated tax related petitions today.

The seven-member constitutional bench is headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan and includes Justice Jamal Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Mussarat Hilali and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.

The bench will hear total six cases today, including the consolidated tax petition. Another case on the dock today is related to independent elected members of the parliament joining any political party.

Justice Ayesha Malik will sit on the constitutional bench for the first time today. She had not presided over cases due to her holidays.
