SCO summit: joint declaration issued, agreement on new economic dialogue

ISLAMABAD: The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, concluded its 23rd summit with the issuance of a joint declaration.

Key agreements were reached, including the launch of a new economic dialogue among member nations.

The declaration stressed the importance of cooperation in information security, while also reviewing the economic and organisational activities of the SCO.

Member states reaffirmed their commitment to equality, mutual interest, and non-interference, pledging to strengthen ties in security, trade, economy, and investment.

Additionally, leaders reiterated their dedication to resolving disputes through dialogue and agreed on initiatives to enhance cultural exchanges within the region.
