Aimal Wali Khan elected as ANP’s new President

PESHAWAR: The Central Council of the Awami National Party (ANP) unanimously elected Senator Aimal Wali Khan as the Central President of the party.

Former Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti suggested the name of Senator Aimal Wali Khan for the central presidency.

Chief Commissioner Randhawa appointed CDA chairman

All the members of the Central Council of the ANP approved the name of Senator Aimal Wali Khan as President of the party.

Aimal Wali Khan, 38, is a Pakistani politician and the son of the former central president of ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan, and the grandson of ANP’s founder Abdul Wali Khan. Abdul Wali Khan’s father Abdul Ghaffar Khan – Aimal’s great-grandfather – was the founder of the Khudai Khidmatgar movement.

Aimal started his political career in 2007 as a worker for the Pakhtun Students’ Federation (PSF). He remained associated with the student wing till 2011.

He was elected as Provincial President of ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 12 April 2019. Aimal also holds the Directorship of Baacha Khan Trust. – INP
