PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif has said that the movement to release the PTI founder Imran Khan “has become stronger”.
He said that the government “showed brutality, and think that the movement has gotten weaker”, but it has only added to the resolve of the PTI members and activists.
PTI parliamentary party blasts central leadership over D-Chowk event
In an attempt to clarify the recent reports of discord in the ranks of PTI, and the exchange of harsh words between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, he said, “Everyone has full confidence in the leadership of CM Gandapur.”
“By committing injustice, the government has shot itself in the foot,” Barrister Saif said, adding, “Only the people who are afraid, commit injustice”.
PTI PROTEST DEBACLE
Last week, the PTI claimed to have brought thousands of people to Islamabad to stage a sit-in until their incarcerated leader Imran Khan was released. However, even before the entire convoy could reach their intended spot at D-chowk, the authorities dispersed the protestors.
The capital city was heavily fortified in anticipation of the rally, and the protestors also clashed with the forces at multiple spots during the protest rally’s march towards Islamabad. However, once the convoy led by CM Gandapur and Bushra Bibi entered Islamabad, the government offered them the designated spot of Sangjani to stage the sit-in.
The offer was reportedly accepted by the PTI leadership, including incarcerated Khan, but Bushra Bibi refused to halt the march towards D-Chowk. This decision not only sealed the protest’s utter failure but also ignited a rift within the PTI leadership.
