ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has made a significant announcement, finalizing the election symbol for the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) as the ‘eagle.’
This decision comes after a sequence of deliberations and appeals by the party.
Previously, the IPP’s central executive committee convened and decided to resubmit a request for the ‘eagle’ as their chosen election symbol. Their initial application included options for ‘bat,’ ‘sparrow,’ and ‘eagle’ as potential symbols.
Following these proceedings, the ECP reserved its verdict on Wednesday and issued a notice to the party’s President, Abdul Aleem Khan, for a response today.

The request for the ‘eagle’ symbol had faced a hurdle earlier when it was rejected by a four-member bench of the ECP, led by Sindh Member Nisar Ahmad Durrani.
Firdous Ashiq Awan, the central information secretary of IPP, shared that the party has now been granted the ‘eagle’ symbol, heralding new horizons for IPP in Pakistan’s political arena. She depicted IPP’s Patron-in-Chief, Jahangir Tareen, and President Abdul Aleem Khan as the ‘two wings’ of this symbol, symbolizing unity and strength.
Awan expressed her confidence, stating that people’s apprehensions have been dispelled, and the ‘eagle’ will soar high in the political landscape of the country. She concluded by offering her congratulations to the entire leadership of the Stability Pakistan Party, celebrating this pivotal development in their political journey.
