SAN FRANCISCO: Two legends of the National Basketball Association (NBA) clashed on Wednesday night in a thrilling Christmas game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors. LeBron came out on top, taking a 3-2 lead in his holiday’s series against the Warriors, but Stephen Curry didn’t make it easy.
What looked to be a dominant win for the Lakers was almost turned on its head after a late Curry flurry tied the game with just eight seconds remaining.
However, before Chase Center got their hopes up during the Warriors late fourth quarter comeback, the men in purple and gold dominated. Golden State found themselves in control early, after Andrew Wiggins hit his second three pointer of the frame with only three minutes left, putting the Warriors up by eight. But, the Lakers wouldn’t allow Curry and co. to build on that lead. Austin Reaves would hit a three from the right wing, followed by a floating jump shot from LeBron James, and another three, this time from the rookie, Dalton Knecht.
The Lakers would take the lead following a couple of free throws from the king, and his supporting cast would build on it until Los Angeles led by nine with seven left in the quarter. Golden State would keep the game close and would find themselves only three points down by the end of the frame, as Curry scored a quick eight points in the final three minutes.

Curry then levelled the game a litt under five minutes into the third, with a quick three from the right wing. But the Lakers wold pull ahead again, ending the quarter up by eight after Reaves hit a couple shots from beyond the arc.
The last frame saw more Lakers dominance, as Los Angeles led by ten with under three and a half minutes remaining. The game looked to be all but over, until Stephen Curry came to Chase Center’s rescue, taking over the contest. First, number 30 would hit a reload three after Jonathan Kuminga tipped out Curry’s first attempt. LeBron would answer right back with a three of his own from the top of the key.
Kuminga then scored three points, a free throw and a reverse dunk, followed by a three from the left wing by the newest Warrior signee, Dennis Schroder.
With less than 50 seconds remaining, the Lakers led by four. In the midst of Los Angeles scoring four free throws, Curry would do what he does best. He would layup the ball with 26 seconds remaining, hit a three pointer from the right corner with 12 seconds remaining, and his eighth bucket from well beyond the right wing to tie the game with eight seconds remaining.
Chase Center exploded as their prayers were answered. Yet, Reaves brought an end to their joy, scoring a driving layup at the very end of the game to put the Lakers up by two.
Los Angeles beat Golden State 115-113, behind 31 points from James, and despite 38 points from Curry.
