NBA history: LeBron and Bronny James share the court

LOS ANGELES: A sold out crowd at the Crypto Arena witnessed history on Tuesday, as Lebron and Bronny James became the first father son duo to play together in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Tuesday night was historic, as for the first time in history, a father-son duo played together in a regular season National Basketball Association (NBA) game. As the Los Angeles Lakers played their season opener against Minnesota Timberwolves, Lebron and Bronny James got their first chance to play together.

The event completed a long-time goal of LeBron James, who is still competing at the highest level at the age of 39, in his 22nd NBA season. Bronny, who was the 55th pick of the NBA draft earlier this year, only played three minutes, in which he attempted two field goals, bricking both. The 20-year-old did manage to get one rebound in his debut.

LeBron played 35 minutes, making 16 points from his seven made field goals, including one from deep. He managed to also get five rebounds and 4 assists.

“It’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever got from the man above,” said LeBron after the game, in regards to being able to spend time with his son while still working.

However, even though the father son duo made history, Anthony Davis was the star of the night, scoring 36 points on a 47.9 per cent clip from the field. He made 11 out his 23 attempted shots, grabbing 16 boards in the process, along with four assists.
