Pakistan beat India in Honk Kong Super Sixes as Asif Ali makes 50

MONG KOK: Pakistan beat India in the Hong Kong International Sixes tournament with an over to spare on Friday, behind a half century from Asif Ali.
India skipper Robin Uthappa made 31 runs, hitting three fours and three sixes before he was bowled by Pakistan skipper Faheem Ashraf. Bharat Chipli was India’s top scorer, making a half century in 16 deliveries, hitting six fours and four sixes before retiring due to an injury.

Jedar Jadhav was dismissed three balls later. After hitting a couple fours, he hit Ashraf’s delivery into Shahab Khan’s hands. Manoj Tiwary and Stuart Binny tried to put a few more runs on the board, scoring 17 and four runs respectively, before India’s innings came to an end. They set a target of 120, which Pakistan made with ease.
India weren’t able to take a wicket, with only Asif Ali retiring due to injury, but not before he made a half century off 14 deliveries, hitting two fours, and slamming seven sixes. Muhammad Akhlaq also put on a terrific performance, making 40 runs off 12 deliveries, hitting three fours and four sixes. Pakistan’s captain closed out the innings, with three back to back sixes, bringing his individual total to 22, and Pakistan’s to 121.
Pakistan are at the top of Pool C after winning both their matches thus far.
