NEVADA: Vice President Kamala Harris, alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, held a rally in Las Vegas, where she pledged to continue fighting for the rights of American working families.
Addressing a crowd of supporters, Harris made a policy promise. She said, “It is my promise to everyone here. When I am president, we will continue our fight for working families of America, including raising the minimum wage and eliminating taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.”

Harris’s support for eliminating taxes on tips aligns with a similar stance taken by former President Donald Trump. This policy has been a point of discussion in the ongoing debate about how best to support low-income workers in the service industry.
Harris also outlined her broader vision for the country, emphasising the need to build a more inclusive economy. “We fight for a future where we build a broad-based economy where every American has an opportunity to own a home, start a business, and build wealth. We believe in a future where we lower the cost of living for America’s families so they have a chance not just to get by but to get ahead.”
She expressed concerns about the rising cost of living, particularly the high prices of everyday items like groceries. Harris vowed to continue her efforts to tackle price gouging and bring down costs for American families, promising to challenge big corporations, corporate landlords, and pharmaceutical companies that she believes are contributing to these issues.

In a pointed critique of Donald Trump’s policies, Harris contrasted her approach with the former president’s agenda. “Donald Trump has a different plan. Just look at his Project 2025 Agenda. If he is elected, Trump intends to give tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations,” she warned.
Harris also accused Trump of planning to cut Social Security and Medicare, abandoning the fight against the climate crisis, and dismantling the Affordable Care Act, which she argued would leave millions of Americans vulnerable. “America has tried these failed policies before, and we are not going back,” she declared.
