US election: Donald Trump makes last stops in key state


Former US President Donald Trump is actively campaigning in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan as the day of election looms near.

WEB DESK: Former United States (US) President Donald Trump is actively campaigning in the US states of North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan as the world’s biggest economy approaches a critical presidential election.

During his rallies, Trump made several bizarre statements in quintessential Trump style. Regarding global security, the Republican party candidate sagely stated, “We are on the brink of a third world nuclear war”.

He stated that his election was critical to preventing such a catastrophic outcome only by, of course, voting for him.

“I will prevent the start of the third world war by being elected president”!

The reality media mogul also referenced the conflict in the Middle East. He promised to “end the tension[s]” in the region if he is voted into the White House again.

Trump’s rallies also included doom and gloom warning about the potential consequences of a Democratic victory. He claimed that if he does not win, the US “will become Venezuela”, hinting that a Kamala Harris presidency could lead to economic recession.

As the election day draws nearer, security measures were heightened in Washington, DC  and across the United States.

Authorities installed fences around the White House, the Vice President’s residence and the Capitol Hill in expectation  of potential unrest, a la January 6.

Police leave were canceled and security was doubled, particularly in Fulton County, Georgia  whee polling is expected to be closely monitored.

Trump’s campaign team appears to be preparing for various outcomes. Reports indicate that they are strategizing  in case of defeat, with internal communications suggesting that staff members were aware of the potential for significant changes post-election.

US media revealed that emails sent to the Trump staff reportedly outlined a plan where current team members would join Trump’s administration if he wins, while those who did not secure positions would be terminated by November 30.

The former president’s campaign was also marked by a focus on rallying support in the swing states, critical for securing the electoral votes.

North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan are seen as critical battleground that could determine the outcome of the entire election.
