LAHORE: The Inspector General of Punjab appeared before the Lahore High Court (LHC) bench to address the application regarding the transfer of Khadija Shah from Quetta.
The proceedings unfolded with intense scrutiny as questions arose about the circumstances surrounding Shah’s movement.
IG Punjab informed the court that Quetta police were scheduled to take Khadija Shah at 10:30 in the morning. However, the court sought clarification on the exact moment when Khadija Shah was handed over to the legal authorities.
Khadijah Shah’s detention withdrawn, remand approved
Earlier, the LHC had ordered to produce Khadijah Shah before the court at 2:30 p.m and that in case she is not presented, IG Punjab Justice Ali Baqir Najafi should appear instead and explain.
Khadijah Shah’s lawyer Sameer Khosa challenged her transit remand issued by the ATC in the Lahore High Court (LHC). During the proceedings, LHC engaged in a series of inquiries, delving into the specifics of the case, including the vehicle used to transport Khadija Shah and her current location.
Lawyer Khosa urged the court to recall Khadija Shah immediately, arguing that her detention was unjust. He also asserted that if the detention order was canceled the previous day, Khadija Shah had been held in illegal detention for one day. The court took note of this issue.
Amidst the legal proceedings, the public prosecutor speculated that Khadija Shah might have been taken by plane. Conflicting information emerged as Quetta authorities reportedly informed the ATC that Khadija Shah would be transported to Bai Road by lawyer Sameer Khosa.
