JI chief holds Sardars responsible for Balochistan’s malaise

QUETTA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj ul Haq on Thursday accused the local ‘sardars’ of being responsible for the dire state of Balochistan.

Addressing workers in Quetta, the JI chief said that over 65 per cent of all development projects in Balochistan fall victim to corruption.

“There are no hospitals or schools in the province as corrupt leadership has been imposed on the province,” he said.

He said that his party will introduce a fair and just system if voted to power.

The JI chief said that the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz are blaming each other but they are the two sides of the same coin.

He promised the country will see a fair democratic process under his party’s leadership.

JI announces election campaign schedule

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the JI announced the election campaign schedule of the party chief on Thursday.

In a statement released by the party’s information secretary Qaiser Sharif, the JI chief will kick off a countrywide election campaign from January 20 till February 5.

Siraj ul Haq will start his election campaign from the Punjab city of Chichawatni on January 20, before heading to Mardan on January 21.

The JI chief will cover Dir and Multan on January 22 and January 23 respectively.

He will cover various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from January 24 to January 25. The JI chief will then head to Sindh from January 29 to January 31.

He will then address public rallies in Dir Bala, Faisalabad and Gujranwala from February 1 till February 3.

Siraj ul Haq will address a rally in Rawalpindi on February 4. The JI chief will conclude his election campaign on February 5 by addressing rallies in Lahore.
