Khalil-ur Rehman comes out blazing against Nauman Ijaz, Saba Qamar

KARACHI: Renowned writer and director Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has publicly expressed his disdain for actors Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar, stirring controversy within the entertainment industry.

Appearing on a TV programme, acclaimed writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had said the man whom he hated most on earth was Nauman Ijaz.

According to Khalil, there is only one man in the entire world whom he has genuinely hated, revealing it to be Nauman Ijaz.

While Khalil acknowledged Nauman’s talent as a brilliant actor, he expressed strong disdain for him as a person.

Khalil considered him to be a disgraceful individual.

He said: “That person is not worthy. Khalil-ur-Rehman does not bear hatred towards anyone but I can put my hand on my chest and claim that I genuinely hate Nauman Ijaz.”

The host questioned him if he hates anyone else, to which he replied: “No. I’ve been angry at people. But I haven’t hated them.”

Khalilur Rehman Qamar also seemingly turned his ‘hatred gun’ towards another superstar Saba Qamar, vehemently refusing to cast her in any project, also declaring her against his standards due to ‘bold’ choice of attires.

He made these remarks in a podcast session where he has been asked for any actress whom he would never cast in his dramas.

In response to the query, Khalil deliberately mentioned Saba Qamar with adding: “I don’t think so I would be able to collaborate with her as she wears such ‘vulgar’ (bold) outfits which do not meet my criteria.”

“There is no doubt that Saba Qamar is an excellent actress and she performed brilliantly in one of my past dramas. However, her current choice of clothing is against our culture and my principles,” the playwright explained.

Detailing the discussion and acknowledging Saba Qamar’s freedom regarding fashion choices Khalil added: “I know wearing such clothes is her personal choice and I should not have an issue with it but still I have a right to choose.”

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is no stranger to controversy. His outspoken nature and often polarizing views have made headlines before. However, his recent comments are particularly notable given the stature of the actors involved.
