Sources suggest that it is highly likely for PPP to be allocated key ministries upon joining the federal government. Moreover, there are indications that the chairmanship of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) will also be entrusted to the PPP, with Senator Rubina Khalid emerging as a potential candidate for the role, subject to consensus.
Decisions regarding the PPP involvement in the government are expected to be finalised following deliberations at the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting or through consultations with the members’ council. It is worth noting that the decision to not join the cabinet after February 8 elections was also decided by the party’s CEC.
