Rs 3b earmarked for election security in Punjab

LAHORE: The finance department has approved the allocation of a substantial three billion rupees to bolster security measures for the upcoming elections in Punjab.
These funds are earmarked to support crucial aspects such as police transportation and provisioning of food for election security personnel.
Additionally, the expenses related to deploying security personnel will be fully covered by this allocation.
Nawaz Sharif to start campaigning this week
Punjab’s Finance Secretary, Mujahid Sher Dal, has made a careful estimation that a total of Rs 3 billion will be necessary to address various expenses associated with the elections.
These allocated funds are slated to be disbursed to various departments in advance of the upcoming election.
The general election 2024 will be held on February 8, as announced by the president of Pakistan and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) earlier.
