Saudi Arabia and Pakistan discuss joint air force exercises and technical collaboration: ISPR


RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar recently visited Saudi Arabia where he met with top Saudi military officials, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.

The air marshal met with the Chief of the General Staff of Saudi Armed Forces and the Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Forces, where the discussions mainly focused on joint exercises and technical cooperation between the air forces of both countries.

“Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force called on General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff, Saudi Armed Forces and His Royal Highness Lieutenant General Turki Bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Forces, during his visit to Saudi Arabia”, the statement read.

The discussions cantered on advancing the defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, specifically on joint military drills and technological partnerships between their respective air forces.

“Meetings were focused upon further promoting Pak-Saudi defence ties, particularly between the two Air Forces through joint military exercises and technological collaboration”, the ISPR detailed in the statement.

The Pakistani air chief also received a national badge of honour by the Saudi army chief.

“During the visit, the Air Chief was awarded King Abdul Aziz Badge of Honor of the Excellent Class by Chief of the General Staff, Saudi Armed Forces”.
