Supreme Court to resume Practice and Procedure Act case today

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan is set to resume the live hearing of the contentious Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act case today. This marks the fifth hearing in this case that has stirred legal circles and drawn nationwide attention.

The full court bench, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will once again convene to deliberate on the implications and merits of the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act. The Act has been a subject of intense legal debate since its introduction.

At the previous hearing, the lawyers representing the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pakistan Bar Council presented their arguments. The MQM’s counsel raised concerns about the Act, asserting that it potentially infringes upon the rights and autonomy of the Supreme Court.
