Toshakhana case: fresh investigation launched against Imran, Bushra

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated a fresh inquiry into the Toshakhana case, issuing call-up notices to the founder chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, on Wednesday.

Sources said NAB Rawalpindi has sent a letter to the Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail, requesting their presence for the investigation. The notices, issued by NAB, require both individuals to appear before the bureau on April 16, sources said.
This development signifies a renewed focus on the Toshakhana case, which revolves around allegations of misappropriation of gifts received from foreign dignitaries.
Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have already faced two separate cases involving the Toshakhana or state gift repository.

Former prime minister and former first lady were sentenced to 14-year prison terms in one of the cases, but the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the sentences in April.
