US does not interfere in Pakistan’s political matters: US envoy

PESHAWAR: United States Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome on Thursday said that the US does not interfere in Pakistan’s political matters.

Speaking to the media in Peshawar, the US ambassador also congratulated Pakistan on the approval of loan by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), acknowledging that Pakistan is currently facing several economic challenges.

Donald Blome, further added that the US is the largest investor in Pakistan. He highlighted that American investment in Pakistan increased by 50 per cent last year alone, with many American companies investing in the country.

Blome, continued by adding that legislation regarding women’s rights in Pakistan is extremely important. The US ambassador mentioned that the US is working in collaboration with Pakistan on issues related to Afghan refugees and has allocated a special fund of $60 million for them.
