Khalid Chaudhry has said that the last hearing of the Toshakhana II case was held at Adiala jail on February 17. Sometimes cases are heard at lightning speed and sometimes they are slowed down, he said.

Imran Khan’s lawyer added that when the former premier is to be sentenced, the trial is conducted till midnight.

BACKGROUND

The Toshakhana-II case involves allegations against the couple of unlawfully retaining and selling 10 expensive Toshakhana gifts, including seven luxury watches.

On January 28, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had filed a request with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for the transfer of their acquittal plea in the case to another bench.

Their counsel argued, “Khawar Manika filed an appeal against the acquittal of the PTI founder in the iddat case, and on the same grounds, the case was transferred to another bench. There are many senior judges in the Islamabad High Court, and I am acting on my client’s instructions.”

However, the court rejected their request to immediately transfer the case to another bench. Justice Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas directed their counsel to provide further assistance, while Khan and Bushra had raised objections to the bench of Justice Minhas.
