RAWALPINDI: Jamie Smith fell short of making a century against Pakistan in England’s first innings on Thursday, right after Noman Ali ended a 107 run partnership by dismissing Gus Atkinson in the 60th over.
Jamie Smith was dismissed after hitting a flurry of boundaries, including four fours and seven sixes on his way to making 91 runs. He fell just short of a century. The England wicket keeper hit a pair of sizes in the 59th and 61st overs. Saud Shakeel almost managed to get rid of Smith earlier, in the 57th over. He only managed to get his finger tips to the ball that had just enough height on it to clear him.
Zahid Mehmood was the man that dismissed him, as Smith tried to launch the ball, but ended popping it straight up. Mohammad Rizwan settled underneath it for the catch.
